Deleting an agent opens a Delete agent dialog that lists everything the delete affects before anything happens. You decide, knowledge base by knowledge base, whether any of the agent’s knowledge bases are deleted with it. By default none are.
Delete an agent
- Go to Agents.
- Open the row’s action menu and choose Delete.
- Review the dialog, tick any knowledge bases you also want removed, and confirm.
Only people who can delete the agent see the action. Org viewers need an explicit grant.
What stops working
Choosing knowledge bases
Every knowledge base linked to the agent is listed with its document and source counts, unticked. Leaving them all unticked deletes only the agent — the safest choice.
- Shared knowledge bases — ones another agent also uses — are shown with “Also used by …” and cannot be ticked, because deleting them would break those agents. Delete them from the Knowledge page once nothing else needs them.
- Knowledge bases you can’t delete are shown greyed out with the reason.
- Select all deletable ticks every knowledge base you are allowed to remove.
Knowledge bases you leave unticked stay in your workspace and still count toward your plan’s knowledge-base limit.
Deleting a knowledge base is permanent: its documents, sources, search index and knowledge graph are removed and cannot be restored.
If something can’t be deleted
The agent is deleted first, then each knowledge base you chose. If a knowledge base fails to delete, the dialog stays open and says so plainly — the agent is gone, and it names each knowledge base that is still in your workspace. Choose Retry to try just those again, or Close to deal with them later from the Knowledge page.
Deleting a knowledge base on its own
You can delete a knowledge base without deleting any agent from the Knowledge page or the knowledge base’s Overview tab. The confirmation lists the agents that use it: they lose access to it but are not deleted, and keep answering from their other knowledge bases.
